I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF).
I am fluent and offer sessions in English, isiXhosa, Sesotho and isiZulu.
Not only am I fluent in these languages but I have lived in various places across South Africa (Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Durban and Cape Town), therefore, I am familiar with the dynamics that all of these places present which are often beneficial during a therapeutic process.
I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF). I pursued a career in Clinical psychology due to my passion for people and their being.
Throughout life, we encounter various experiences that stay with us and shape the way we view ourselves as well as the world. Some experiences have a greater impact than we would like to admit and others change us to become people we no longer recognise.
My role is to be with you through the journey of connecting with yourself or the person you envisage yourself to be, to be an Anathi.
I obtained my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and went on to work at Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital in Pretoria, as well as GJ Crookes Hospital in Scottburgh prior to starting my practice. These places offered me a wealth of experience in fields such neuropsychiatry, forensics, and developmental psychology.
I worked with children and adults, both in and out of hospital and provided psychotherapy to individuals, couples, groups and families. Connecting with yourself looks different for everyone and is dependent on the challenges faced or needs for therapy.
My approach is holistic and tailored to the individual’s unique experiences.
I am trained to manage and treat all psychological disorders and general life stressors; and I have experience with mood disorders (such as depression, bipolar, and dysthymia), anxiety disorders, trauma, grief/bereavement, life changes and adjustment, abuse, substance abuse, relationships, conflict, work challenges, body image, self-esteem, and parenting.
